Yellowzine partners with Muslim Sisterhood to launch the 'Iftar Art Sale' for charity this ramadan

Yellowzine is proud to partner with Muslim Sisterhood for a special initiative to celebrate the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Salam Zaied - Summer of 99'

Ramadan is a special time of the year for Muslims all around the world, marked by fasting, prayer, and increased charitable giving. As the holy month draws to a close, Muslims celebrate the last 10 days of Ramadan, which are considered particularly blessed and include Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power. Many Muslims choose to increase their charitable giving during this time, as a way to honour this special occasion.

To mark the last 10 days of Ramadan, Yellowzine is proud to partner with Muslim Sisterhood for a special initiative that celebrates the work of 10 talented Muslim artists based in the UK. Each day at Iftar, the time when Muslims break their fast during Ramadan, we will release a piece of artwork from one of the 10 artists on our website. The first piece was released yesterday 13th of April, at 7:54pm. The following piece will be released today at 7:56pm. 50% of the sale profits will be donated to African Relief Fund which focuses on education, clean water, agriculture, health, orphan care & emergency aid to help build resilient communities, mainly focused on Muslim communities in Africa. The remaining 50% will be given back to the artist.

The chosen art work from each of the 10 artists will be released daily at Iftar (the time when Muslims break their fast during Ramadan) with the first being released today, 12th of April, at 7:54pm. Link in bio to purchase

We are excited to feature the work of artists such as Haseebah Ali, Melanie Issaka, Salam Zaied and Laylah Amarchih - the artists we have curated work across an array of disciplines from printmaking to painting, and photography. Through their works, they explore themes of identity, heritage, culture, food, family and more.

"It's a blessing to be able to use our platform for a purpose such as this one" says Aisha Ayoade, co-founder of Yellowzine. "Through the power of art and generosity, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to those in need during this time of the year."

We invite you to join us in celebrating the last 10 days of Ramadan with the art of giving. Visit our website each day at Iftar to view and purchase a piece of art from one of the 10 artists, and help support a good cause while enjoying beautiful artwork.

Ramadan Mubarak!
